Kathmandu, Oct 7 . Inspector General of Police, Sarbendra Khanal, has promised action against the police officers acting against the professional rules and regulations.
Giving his concluding remarks at the Police Day Running Cup Men Footba ll Tournament here today, the police chief said the image of entire police institution was tarnished by some people’s acts in the organisation.
As he stated, people have trust on and expectation from the police, and the entire police mechanism should work to meet the public aspirations through its services.
He insisted on the need of taking action against such wrongdoers to restore the image of the organisation. As he viewed, all should work hand- in- hand by abiding by professional norms and values to maintain the organizational pride and prestige.
In the five-day tournament, a total of 10 teams had participated and the Province 5 police office, Dang clinched the title by defeating the Province 3 police office, Hetauda.
The winner was awarded a cash prize of Rs 50,000, certificates and medals while the first-runner up received a cash prize of Rs 35,000, certificates and medals and the ‘best player’ of the tournament bagged Rs 10,000.
