Nepal a model of religious tolerance : NA Chair Timilsina

Chitwan, Nov 7 : National Assembly member Ganesh Prasad Timilsina has said that Nepal is a model nation for religious tolerance.

Stating that violence has taken place in many parts of the world in the name of religion, the Chair of the upper house of the federal parliament noted that the religious unity of Nepal has given a unique identity in the world.

He was addressing a cultural programme of worshipping the cow at Yogi Naraharinath Gau Sanrakshan Kendra at local Bageshwari, Bharatpur.

NA chairman Timilsina said that Nepali have the capacity to forge unity and tolerance among all faiths. He said all religions should be respected.

‘The Hindu religion respects all other religions and it is a matter of pride,’ he reiterated.
One hundred and fifty cows kept at the cow farm were worshipped on the occasion. There was a large presence of people to offer worship to the cows at the Kendra on the occasion of Laxmi Puja, the third day of the Tihar festival today.
